INDUSTRY is a free-standing sculpture hand-carved from laminated plywood and combined with fixed oxidised steel plates. Inspired by the British canal and river system, the work references the infrastructure that supported the Industrial Revolution, particularly lock gates, engineering structures, and waterways used to transport goods and drive industry. The layered plywood echoes the construction of these functional forms, while the weathered steel, sealed after oxidation and marked with spray-painted numbers, suggests age, use, and industrial identity.

The central void creates a sense of movement and flow, reflecting the passage of water through the canal network. On the reverse, a salvaged flyer and graffiti-like spray paint reference the urban environments that developed around Britain's waterways, highlighting the connection between industry, transport, and contemporary urban culture.
